Sola Sawyerr is a San Francisco artist with an MFA from the Academy of Art University. She has a background in biology, math and teaching and is now an artist who has shown her work in San Francisco, Kansas City, Livermore, Chicago, and Corciano, Italy.
“I am an oil painter who enjoys the challenge of trying to capture and interpret what I see and the freedom to push this in any direction. I paint abstracts and figures in an expressive way consisting of sometimes muted and sometimes vibrant colors. In addition to capturing the feeling of the moment, I like to create various textures and depths by applying and removing layers of paint in a transparent manner.”
