Most of my work is non-representational due to the abstraction of color, shapes, typography and forms of overlapping textures. Living in San Francisco has had a major impact on my work. Decaying walls, shipyards, industrial sites, and abandoned buildings have all been a big influence. The aging, rust and marks on these surfaces are what I find fascinating and inspiring.
I strive to create rich textured surfaces using a variety of materials such as oil, acrylic, pumice, joint compound, paper, old rusty screws and spray paint. In this way the urban textures are translated into my painting surfaces.
